Graduate Physiotherapist

As a former competitive swimmer, I represented my club at national championships on multiple occasions and, at 18, ranked among the UK’s top 20 in the 200m Backstroke for my age group. I also competed for the University of Nottingham at the BUCS Championships.

Since then, I have embraced other endurance sports, completing multiple half marathons and taking up road cycling—with the goal of completing a triathlon in the future.

These experiences have given me a deep understanding of endurance sports, movement biomechanics, and sport-specific injuries. Having trained for over 15 hours a week at times, I appreciate the physical and mental demands of training and competition. I have also navigated injuries and rehabilitation myself, which allows me to empathise with my patients and support them through the challenges of recovery.

During my undergraduate training, I have gained broad placement experience across various healthcare settings, including: community and outpatient neuro-paediatrics (Chesterfield Royal Hospital), community physiotherapy for elderly and frail populations (Derbyshire Community Health Services), MSK outpatients (Nottingham City Hospital), rugby team physiotherapy (University of Nottingham), ICU (Lincoln County Hospital), and learning disabilities in a college setting (Portland College). Additionally, I supported a variety of athletes at the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Championships on multiple occasions. I also have delivered hydrotherapy to a variety of patients including stroke, brain injury and road traffic accident.
